Bagua Shan Dong Pian
Oolong tea, Taiwan

Flavour: sweet, vegetal, floral
Dong Pian is a special Taiwanese tea. It is harvested in the Winter Solstice when the weather is unseasonably warm which tricks the plants into thinking Spring has arrived, so they produce new leaf buds. The warm days and cool nights imbue a unique flavour into the leaves as they grow.

These leaves are the Siji Chun Wū Lóng cultivar, harvested on 25 December 2022 from one of the Wang family gardens. The garden sits at an altitude of 450m in Bāguà Shān, Nantou County, Taiwan.

The Wang Family has been involved in Taiwanese tea for many generations. The company is now run by brother and sister duo Joshua and Ivy Wang, who have a passion for sustainable and environmentally friendly practices and sharing the best tea that Taiwan has to offer.

Preparation: Steep for 3 minutes at 90°. Three infusions.

Sizes: this tea comes in four sizes: a 3-gram single serve, then 20g, 50g and 100g pouches. Our leaves can all be steeped at least twice (four plus times for this tea), so while the 3g pouch is a single serve (150 mls - a standard tea cup size), it will give you two cups if you steep the leaves twice.
