Our traditional matcha whisk ('chasen') comes from Takayama, Ikoma city, Nara prefecture in Japan - an area famous for producing high quality hand crafted tea accessories. Each whisk is carefully crafted by hand from one complete piece of bamboo, using a lot of love and care.
Once you have scooped matcha into your matcha bowl, add warm water then quickly move your whisk in a 'W' shape repeatedly (try not to scrape the bottom of the bowl) until a foam appears on top. Rinse straight away (you can whisk it through a bowl of clean, warm water), shake out excess water, then leave to air dry.
