This 2023 organic Spring harvest tea comes from the Satsuma district of Northern Kagoshima, Southern Japan.

The tea plants are shaded before harvest, which intensifies the chlorophyll content, the tea’s ‘umami’ flavour and increases the level of amino acid L-theanine. The cultivator of tea plant, Saemidori, is known for its bright green leaves and richly-scented liquid.

These slender, jade-coloured needles steep into a textural, brothy infusion with notes of roasted pumpkin, brussel sprouts, zucchini and spinach with a hint of salty seaweed.

Certified organic by Kagoshima Organic Agriculture Association (KOAA).

Sizes: Kabusencha Saemidori comes in four sizes: a 3-gram single serve, then 20g, 50g and 100g pouches. Our leaves can all be steeped at least twice (often more), so while the 3g pouch is a single serve (150 mls - a standard tea cup size), it will give you two cups if you steep the leaves twice.
