BLACK TEA: Lapsang Souchong, China
Lapsang Souchong
Black tea, China
Flavour: malty, fruity & sweet
These leaves were harvested on 10 April 2023 in Huang Keng village, Wuyishan, Fujian province, China.
This Lapsang Souchong is a rich and intriguing black tea that works beautifully with many different foods, such as hard cheese, meat and fruit and chocolate desserts. The fragrance is sweet and malty. The infusion is medium-bodied with notes of malt, orange and brown sugar.
This tea comes from Wuyi Origin tea company, led by Cindy Chen and her husband, Zhou Shiwu, who value quality tea craftsmanship and love sharing the experience of the special teas the region produces.
Preparation: Steep for 3 minutes at 100°. Three infusions.
Infusions: specialty tea leaves can all be steeped at least twice, and often more, so each 3 gram serve (150 mls - a standard teacup size), will give you two cups ('infusions') if you steep the leaves twice. On the back of your pouch under 'Steep', you can find the number of infusions for your tea.
