Our traditional matcha scoop ('chashaku') comes from Takayama, Ikoma city, Nara prefecture in Japan - an area famous for producing high quality hand crafted tea accessories. Each scoop is carefully crafted by hand from one complete piece of bamboo.
Use your chashaku to scoop your matcha powder into your bowl, add warm water then quickly move your whisk in a 'W' shape repeatedly (try not to scrape the bottom of the bowl) until a foam appears on top. Rinse your scoop and whisk straight away, shake off excess water, then leave to air dry.
