Old Bush Lapsang Souchong
Black tea, China

Flavour: tree bark, wild berries, camphor ~ light-bodied & captivating
Harvested on 15 May 2023, these leaves come from 100-year-old, tall trees that are covered with green moss from root to branch. The trees grow wild outside of Gua Duan village in the Wuyishan National Nature Reserve, Fujian, China. They produce a low leaf yield, making this a precious tea.

The plump, wiry leaves release a floral and woody scent. The liquor has a soft, creamy mouthfeel and earthy notes of tree bark, wild berries and camphor – a captivating flavour that reflects the wild nature of the trees.

This tea comes from Wuyi Origin tea company, led by Cindy Chen and her husband, Zhou Shiwu, who value quality tea craftsmanship and love sharing the experience of the special teas the region produces.

Preparation: Steep for 3 minutes at 95°. Three infusions.

Sizes: Lapsang Souchong comes in four sizes: a 3 gram single serve, then 20g, 50g and 100g pouches. Our leaves can all be steeped at least twice (often more), so while the 3g pouch is a single serve (150 mls - a standard tea cup size), it will give you three cups if you steep the leaves three times.
