Tea for chocolate lovers

In this delicious Tea for Chocolate lovers taster box, we have selected three medium-bodied black teas, each of which has hints of chocolate in its flavour profile, making them the perfect selection if you're a chocolate lover.  While you might smell and taste chocolate notes, the flavour in artisan tea comes from the leaf, its terroir and from expert crafting of the leaves once they are plucked - not from added ingredients.

To make it easy for you or your gift recipient to brew the perfect cup of black tea, you can choose to upgrade this box to include our tea glass infuser and long handled tea spoon, which comes packaged in our large gift box (select size 'Large' above).

The teas currently in our Chocolate Lover's tea taster box are:

China Red, China
Dried berries, wood, chocolate
Smell China Red’s slender dried leaves and you might be reminded of black forest chocolate. The steeped tea emits an aroma of ripe fruit and sweet malt and a flavour of dried berries, wood, malt and dark chocolate. This stunning black tea comes from the Feng Qing area of Lincang, China, and is crafted from a unique hybrid of two local tea plant varietals. The combination of these tea plants, the natural environment and the unique processing creates this distinctive tea. Spring 2019 harvest.

Latumoni Summer Wild Bold, India
Bitter dark chocolate, malt, cinnamon and caramel
This large, leafy tea comes from a small tea garden in Latumoni, Assam, Northern India. Run by Mr Sailen, who started the garden from a small two-acre patch of land with his late father in the 1990’s, the entire tea garden is cultivated using natural and sustainable methods. These plump, full leaves smell like blackberry jam and steep into a malty, sweet tea with notes of dark chocolate, caramel and hints of cinnamon and almond. This is a high quality, small batch tea.

Alpine Earth, China
Milk chocolate, malt, raisin, vanilla, hint of rum
This high mountain black tea is grown in the famous Wu Yi Mountain tea-growing area in Fujian province, China. Harvested in the 2018 Chinese Spring, these leaves steep to produce a medium-bodied, sweet and decadent black tea with notes of milk chocolate and malt, followed by hints of dried fruit, spice and barrel-aged rum. Alpine Earth has a rich and velvety mouthfeel and a subtle roasted coffee bean aftertaste.

Each tea is 20 grams and the leaves can be steeped at least twice. The box includes a little note card to introduce the box to the gift recipient as well as our tea steeping and tasting guide.
