ROASTED GREEN TEA: Amber Hojicha, Japan
Roasted green tea, Japan
Flavour: caramelised nut, firewood, maple ~ medium bodied, low caffeine
This special Hojicha tea is made with sencha leaves which are roasted; a process that transforms the leaves into a warm brown colour and changes their flavour. Amber Hojicha infuses into a deep amber-coloured tea with dark and moody notes of caramelised nut, firewood, tobacco and maple.
Hojicha has a low caffeine content, making it the perfect choice for a relaxing, after-dinner drink.
This June 2020 harvest Hojicha comes from Obubu Tea Farm, Kyoto Japan - an agricultural social venture with a strong focus on high quality tea, community contribution and tea education.
Preparation: Steep for 2 - 3 minutes at 90°. Two infusions.
Sizes: Amber Hojicha comes in four sizes: a 3 gram single serve, then 20g, 50g and 100g pouches. Our leaves can all be steeped at least twice (often more), so while the 3g pouch is a single serve (150 mls - a standard tea cup size), it will give you two cups if you steep the leaves twice
