OOLONG TEA: Mao Xie 'Hairy Crab King', China

| /

Mao Xie, 'Hairy Crab King'
Oolong tea, China

Flavour: floral & fruity, sweet & acidic
Mao Xie translates to ‘hair of the crab’, referring to the down that can be found on tea leaves and the crab-like shape of the rolled tea. ‘King’ represents the higher-than-normal altitude of 800m of this particular Mao Xie.

These leaves infuse into a light-bodied tea with sweet and acidic notes – passionfruit, citrus, flower nectar and sugar – paired with a soft texture and a pleasing freshness.

Spring 2023 harvest from Gan De Village, Anxi County, Fujian, China.

Preparation: Steep for 2-3 minutes at 90°.  Four+ infusions.
