Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea made with mature leaves and stalks. The roasting process creates the warm brown colour of the leaves, its roasty notes and the stalks add a touch of sweetness. The leaves infuse into a glowing, bronze liquor with notes of caramel popcorn, roasted brazil nuts a hint of and smoke.

Hojicha has a low caffeine content, making it the perfect choice for a relaxing, after-dinner drink.

This June 2019 harvest Hojicha comes from Obubu Tea Farm, Kyoto Japan - an agricultural social venture with a strong focus on high quality tea, community contribution and tea education.

Preparation: Steep for 2 - 3 minutes at 90°. Two infusions. 

Food pairing: Hot breakfast dishes such as cooked mushrooms, eggs or avocado on toast; mushroom risotto, avocado sushi, rice and noodle bowls.
