High Mountain Red Ai Lao Shan

Flavour: smokey, dark chocolate, exotic wood, spice
This stunning tea comes from plants that grow at an altitude of 2000m, on the slopes of Ai Lao Mountain in Yunnan, China. It is crafted under the guidance of Taiwanese born Mr Guo who uses Taiwanese processing techniques to create a tea that sits between black and dark oolong.

When infused, the leaves release tantalising notes of smoke, dark chocolate, exotic wood, cinnamon and nutmeg.

March 2023 harvest.

Preparation: Steep for 3 minutes at 95 - 98°. Three infusions. 

Sizes: High Mountain Ai Lao Red comes in four sizes: a 3 gram single serve, then 20g, 50g and 100g pouches. Our leaves can all be steeped at least twice (often more), so while the 3g pouch is a single serve (150 mls - a standard tea cup size), it will give you two cups if you steep the leaves twice.
