~ Our long handled teaspoon

~ Our tea steeping guide and a little card to introduce the box

All you need to create a tranquil start to your day.

The teas in our Breakfast in Bed box are:

Red Plum, China
Flavour: malt, sweet spice, floral ~ lush & decadent
Red Plum’s jet-black, slender leaves infuse into a medium bodied, rich and lush tea with decadent biscuity, sweet malt and chocolate notes reminiscent of caramel slice, alongside hints of baked plum, sweet spice and flowers. It is smooth in texture with a subtle and pleasant astringency. Spring 2021 harvest.

Assam Borpatra, India
Flavour: malt, wood, honey, nut ~ rich & full bodied
This classic, tippy Assam black tea comes from Borpatra tea estate in Assam, northern India. The estate is located in the foothills of the Tirap district, near Assam’s north-western border. Full bodied and well-structured with rich notes of malt, exotic wood, a honey sweetness and walnut aftertaste. September 2020 harvest. While lovely on its own, this tea can also work with a dash of milk.

Sun Bear
Oolong tea, Vietnam
Flavour: caramel, aniseed, fennel, nut ~ light, sweet & creamy
These leaves are harvested from tea plants that grow wild in the Cho Long area of Son La, 120 km west of Hanoi in northern Vietnam. After plucking and withering, the leaves undergo heavy oxidation, followed by compression and rolling into pellets, and are then briefly roasted. When stepped, the little pellets unfurl to reveal notes of caramel, aniseed, fennel and nut. This lovely tea is light in body with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel and no astringency. September 2020 harvest.

Himalayan Moon Drops
Oolong tea, Nepal
Flavour: floral, fruity, roasty & sweet

Harvested on 6 June 2021, Himalayan Moon Drops is a sensory feast. Created using leaves from different tea varietals along with experimental tea crafting, this tea invites you to be creative. It expresses itself over a range of steeping temperatures; lower to accentuate floral and fruity notes, higher to draw out sweeter raw sugar and coffee-like aromas.

Jun Chiyabari, meaning ‘Moonlit tea garden’, is a family run, high mountain tea estate led by brothers Bachan and Lochan Gyawali. The tea plants are set in small plots scattered between forests, bamboo groves, boulders and streams, at an altitude of 1650m to 2100m in Dhankuta, east Nepal. The terroir, the brothers’ commitment to organic production and careful processing creates rare, high quality, light and aromatic full-leaf teas. Organic certification by IMO.

Bukit Sari Premium Black
Organic black tea, Nepal
Flavour: malt, dark chocolate, maple syrup ~ rich and intense

The Bukit Sari tea garden sits at an altitude of 1150 – 1350m in a remote part of West Java, Indonesia. It is surrounded by conservation forest and has the Citambur Waterfall at its feet. Bukit Sari has been certified organic since 2007 and is committed to bio-diversity and sustainable farming. Its tea plants are replenished by natural mountain spring water and grown amongst companion plants of flowers and herbs which act as a natural bug repellent. Their Imperial Black tea is carefully harvested by hand then finely crafted to draw out its best characteristics. The leaves infuse into a brisk, medium bodied tea with notes of malt, dark chocolate and maple syrup. March 2020 harvest. Certified organic by USDA.

Each tea is 20 grams and the leaves can be steeped at least twice. If you would like to purchase the teas only (not the infuser glass and spoon - although we highly recommend these!), select 'small box - teas only' in 'Size' above.
